Both Jostedalen and the Jostedalsbreen
Glacier are considered beeing among the
highlights to visitors in Norway. This
is where Brevegen AS welcomes you.
Between the Breheimsenteret and the Nigardsbreen we are running
a toll road, more than 3 km long, and we have a small passenger
ferry on the Glacier Lake. See picturemap.
The road goes through a very interesting moraine landscape, where
the ice was several hundred meters thick in the 17th and 18th century.
All this and more you can learn from the museum in the Breheimsenteret.
The boat, carrying the name of a very famous Jostedalen girl, the
Jostedale Ptarmigan, carries 21 passengers, and the season lasts
from mid June through August.
By driving the road and crossing the
lake you reach the impressive front of
the Nigardsbreen, where you also can join
a guided glacier hike with one of the
guides from the Jostedalen Glacier Guides
co.
